Tables and chairs and 2 barbecues.General informationCoast/beach: Villa is within walking distance (approx. 7 mins walk) of a sandy beach which is gently sloping in to shallow water, making it very suitable for children. There are several other nice sandy beaches within a short driving distance.Travel: Fly to either Athens or Thessaloniki and then drive or take the long distance bus. There is also a local airport, Volos Nea Anchialos which has a limited number of charter flights in summer. Car hire is recommended to get the most of this lovely undiscovered area of mainland Greece. Distances: Volos 53km. Athens 280km Thessaloniki 215km E75 Motorway 15km Further details: In the village centre you will find a choice of cafes/bars and tavernas, with excellent fish, three of which stay open all year, all within walking distance of the villa. The village also has two bakeries and two general stores. The beach is also within walking distance of the apartments and is sandy and gently sloping - making it very suitable for young children. There is also a children’s playground, 5-a-side football pitch and volleyball court next to the beach. In high season there are 2 beach bars. In summer Amaliapolis is popular with holidaying Greek families. You can experience the 'real' Greece here largely untouched by mass market tourism. As well as the village beach there are several good beaches within a 30 minute drive. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos with its famous sandy beaches from the nearby village of Achillion. The area of Magnesia is rich in archaeological sites including Ancient Thebes, Prehistoric Dimini, Sesklo and Dimitras. Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and ferry links to the nearby islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos. The Pelion Peninsula is within driving distance with beautiful scenery - a good day trip. Explore the seaside villages or drive up into the mountains for breathtaking views.
